MBFA was selected by the new owner of this prominent structure to design several modern amenities in keeping with the original character of the home. The addition of a swimming pool, garage/pool house, formal gardens, gazebo and porches overlooking the rear gardens greatly enhance the enjoyment of the property.

The new porches help unify the rear of the house, which was previously an assemblage of additions made through the years. The high level of detail and artistry carry through to all parts of the design, including such minor elements as garden gates. This wonderful structure has once again become one of the gems of New Bern's Downtown Historic District.
