David Griffith

David L. Griffith Jr. currently serves MBF Architects as a designer and technician responsible for design, coordination, and production of construction documents for a variety of project types. Duties include schematic design, cost estimating and code research, design development and coordination with consulting disciplines, and all activities related to production of completed construction documents. David has resided in New Bern, NC for the past 11 years and has experience with 7 different architectural design firms in other cities including Rochester, NY; Raleigh, NC; and Charlotte, NC.

Significant design projects for which David has contributed his knowledge and skills include the New Bern Headquarters Fire Station, Newport Middle School, the New Bern High School Field House, addition to the Smyrna Elementary School, and the Queens Point Townhomes.  Since 1995, David has been significantly involved with military related projects at both Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, including roof replacements and wholesale renovations and additions to base facilities such as residential barracks, offices, ordinance disposal training center, staff NCO club, gymnasiums and various restroom facilities. David has also been involved with multiple projects within the New Bern Historic District, including many renovations / modifications to historic homes and various
projects at the Tryon Palace Historic Sites and Gardens.

In the past David has also served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the North Carolina State
University College of Design in Raleigh, NC.
